WHAT IS 21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING?
We're starting off the new year with 21 days of prayer & fasting. The specific dates will be January 9th through January 29th. During this time we will humble ourselves and seek after the heart of God as we corporately and individually pray for all God has in store for us in 2022. To kick off the 21 Days, we will be having a time of prayer and worship on Sunday, January 9th at 6 pm.
Fasting is another spiritual discipline often done in conjunction with prayer. Fasting is less about giving up something and more about someone. It's a time to sacrifice things we enjoy, such as food, social media, or television for the purpose of spending more time with God.
There are several types of fasts including absolute, regular, partial or alternate. The descriptions for each of these can be found here.
When fasting, it is important to remember that the focus is not on what we are giving up, it is on what we are gaining-- a deeper relationship with God and an increased awareness of his presence, purpose, and plan for our lives.
We invite you to prayerfully consider what kind of fast God may be leading you to and join us as we encounter God over these 21 Days.
